NIGHTHIKERS, THEN & NOW

Some things are worth bringing back.

A few friends. A love of the outdoors. A website that kept their stories together.

An outing preserved in the original Nighthikers photo archive

More than a walk in the woods.

The original Nighthikers grew out of friendships and adventures that began in high school. By 2006–2007, the website had become a home for stories, photos, field advice, and a forum.

Its mission was about connection: to the outdoors, to each other, and to a different side of ourselves. That’s the part we’re keeping.

Today, Thumb Wizards Software is bringing Nighthikers back from Michigan. We’re starting with the original emblem and carefully selected public material, then building a fresh community around curiosity, preparation, and respect for the places we visit.

Some older accounts reflect choices we wouldn’t encourage today. We’ll treat them as history, not instructions. Private messages, old passwords, and member contact lists are staying out of the new site.
